Green Spotted Puffer (GSP) - Help??!

My GSP has been living in a pretty small, brackish water tank and I just purchased a large tank (was already established, purchased from owner) for him that I would like to make a full marine tank. I am assuming I would have to acclimate Puff to salt while he is in his current tank? I'm not sure what the salt level is at now, but I know it's pretty high and close to full marine. How would I go about acclimating him and how long will it take?

Also, I am looking to get a few other fish for the new tank - maybe a couple clownfish, an anemone... What type of clowns would be best? Should I get two or one? Will Puff be alright with the anemone? Also, what are some other ideas for tank mates for GSP's?? Anyone have any experiences to share? I'm not set on what I want to get yet, just looking for a couple ideas. I think it would be better to introduce the other fish to the tank before I add Puff though, what do you think? That way he doesn't feel like it is his established territory, might make him slightly less aggressive?

Any advice, input? Thanks guys!

I have 2 GSP that I converted to fully saltwater. Just like you I had them in a small tank until I upgraded to a 55g. They were already converted to fully saltwater before putting them in the bigger tank. It was easier for me to do it in a smaller tank. I slowly raised the salinity, I don't remember how slow since it was a while back but it did take me a while.

They were the first ones in the 55g tank. Currently there tank mates are a clownfish, flame angel, Midas blennie, yellow tail damsel, and a Melanurus Wrasse. They are the sweetest fish in the tank, they bother no one. Actually they are the ones that get chased around. Mine are also with soft coral and they leave everything alone, even the hermit crabs. I just don't have an anemone so can't give my opinion on that. But I know this is not always the case with these fishes. I have heard others say that they can't put any other fishes with them because the puffers attack everyone and everything. I would say I got lucky to have 2 that are very peaceful, especially with each other. I would say they are paired up because they sleep together and are always around each other.

Do a search on here and try to see what experience other have had with them and that way you can get different views. Don't just take my experience because I know it doesn't go that way for everyone.
