green star polyps - maintainance

Fortunately for you, I have heard of it and this is why I decided to warn you and others about this potential problem.

I'll leave you with some pictures of different ways this coral can take over a tank and propagate regardless of their placement.

Have a great day!!

It all started with one small frag away from everything:

It's growth could have been controlled in all those situations but for whatever reason the tank owner chose not to do it. Two of the pics do not appear to have had isolated and the other just let it grow across the sand.

Did he frag it and maybe that's how it ended up in two locations? Another possibility is that it came in on another rock.

I never thought about how it spread in the wild and your right I'm sure it's not one big mat however IME it is a rare occurrence in the home aquarium.

its not that rare at all.. just like having a mushroom have a baby and that new mushroom end up on the other side of the tank.. its happened to me a bunch.. my GSP started off at the tip of one of my rocks and about a month later started to get a 2nd island on the left of the rock..

this stuff happens more then some would think.. flow may have something to do with it.. maybe fish too idk.. but it happens

Dude,

Don't wasted your time. This guy is hell bent on ignoring a simple warning and will not let this one go, regardless of all the common sense you throw at it. I'm sure the smarter reefers will read this and take it for what it is and apply caution, but there is nothing we can do to steer this guy away from the cliff.

I'm just going to let it go and carry on with my day. Life and experience will just have to take care of this one for me.

Have a great day and a great weekend to all you reefers out there.
