Greetings from Santa Rosa!

Hello everyone, I'm new to this particular "club" and wanted to introduce myself and find out what is going on reef-wise in my area.

My name is Forrest, and I'm more than interested in any upcoming swaps or meets--looking forward to meeting some more reef nerds!

Welcome!

Meetings are usually every other month, so our next one should be in October timeframe.

Forest,
Tell us a bit about yourself, your tankspecs, why you decided to get online and meet hobbyists...

And of course next meeting, you get a complementary beating. ;)

Are you fowlr? Softies? LPS? Zoas? SPS?...

Welcome Forrest!! I'm Colin and I'm one of the VP's of the club. I hope to see you at one of our meetings and we'll try to go easy on you with the newbie beatings;)

Welcome Forrest. I'm John, the other VP. Sorry you just missed a great meetup.

I don't know what Colin was thinking. No way we let up on the beatings! :)

Thanks for all the welcomes, everyone!

Well, I'm 19, currently a full time student at Santa Rosa Junior College on track for transfer to UC Davis for pre-med. I got into reefing after having freshwater and brackish tanks all my life, and because marine biology and chemistry are both passions of mine. I'm a huge nerd and spend a lot of time online and I came to forums like this to talk to people who share my interests (not many of my friends or members of my demographic are into reefing) and learn from others in the hobby.

I have had my BioCube 14 Set up for almost a year, it has been retrofitted with an LED array, MJ 900, Stevie's Media rack which runs as a Purigen/chaetomorpha 'fuge. It's a mixed reef with lots of zoanthids, though I'm beginning to try my hand at more SPS and I'm always on the hunt for purple and blue. Other than too much coral my tank also houses a trio of sexy shrimp and a purple fire fish.

And Dragonvale, what do you mean by 'RP'?

There's not many people of any demographic in reefing! Nothing like being a subset of a subset.

RP=Rohnert Park?

No kidding! It's yet another taste of mine that doesn't really play nice with my income bracket, haha.

And of course Rhonert Park! Blanked for a second. Nope, I'm smack in the middle of Santa Rosa.
