hello, I have been lurking around this board for a while and thought I would say hello, I have been into saltwater for about 7 years, ( 3 tanks worth). My current tank is a 70 gallon oceanic reef ready with about 50 lbs of lr, 6 fish and a couch. My method is simple, keep it simple, lots of circulation ( 2 seios 1100 and 2 seios 600) and a mag 7 split return, from a wet dry .lighting consists of twin 150 mh (20000k) and 2 artinic vho.I have three big corals(favia, pipe organ, and pogdya cup) . I run skimmerless by choice and have a 3 in carbsea substrate.

I also have been running skimmerless for the past 2 weeks. Except for doing a little larger water changes I have yet to notice any problem algae or cyano. Do you use any other means of filtration? For example filter floss, whisper filter, fuge or cheato. I am curious to hear what your maintenance regime is like.

I use bluebonded pad over a carbon pad in the drip tray. I also use a bag(s) of chempure elite in the sump area. my maintenance routine is a 15% water change every two weeks, changing of the blue pad every week and kalk added to my make up water. algae hasn't been a problem because the rock was from my old tank and cyano to me is more triggered by a raise in water tempenture ( ie summertime) then nutrient. i bascially do no have a clean up crew except for the couch.

Welcome. Always good to see new faces... err... um.. screen names. :-D Any chance we could see some FTS?(Full tank shots(Pictures))
