well i guess the fauna 60" 80w units are not going to work i have not herd from aq ob in a week. so im thinking of going with 4 ic
660s which will run 16 80w lamps correct? with the 60" ic reflectors. my question is do you think that will be enough light?
tank is 72x48x25 or should i add one more 660 to bring the bulb total to 20? also depending on what you guys think 16 or 20 could you tell me what bulbs front to back.. temp brand etc. sorry i know you have already done this like 10,000 times heck look at you grimm your the undead now :) to many t5 questions but between you and hahn i think im getting the best advice anywhere. oh going to be 90% sps corals some clams very few lps corals. thanks you guys should be getting free bulbs etc. from the on line retailers for selling thier products for them...

You can only run 3 80 watt T5's on the 660. 16 lamps should cover the tank fine. You have to order the reflectors from Ice Cap because they actually sell you 3 of the 39 watt reflectors and you screw them together to cover the length.

ya i knew i would have to special order the 60" refectors from ic
guess i will go with 6 ic 660s for a total of 18 bulbs. can you give me your bulb recomendation front to back please. i am really care more about color than growth. thanks

Well, I wouldnt count out FM just yet. You might want to wait and see what Claude does in response. Andy mentioned that Grim might have have been sent the wrong reflectors, and so Id wait and see.

I asked Andy to put my order on hold, not cancel it just yet...

I would do this, its just repeating the pattern of th first 6 until the last 2 lamps

It looks like the 60" fixtures are not going to happen bacause of ballasts anyway. Claude didnt mention anything to me about wrong reflectors but perhaps it was a translation thing.

I woner if anyone has approche them about selling the 220v fixtures with 110 to 220 transformers......

i did told him 220 would be fine i spoke with andrew at aq ob no answer as of yet? and thanks guys i may wait a while hahn we will see but its a really slow process with aq ob and the lighting system is one of the last things i still need want to start the build.

Yeah, I think I mentioned that in the Ultra-Solaris thread. For Giesemann fixtures, they just use a converter like that so they can just keep the 220v ballasts running. Considering the design troubles that F-M is having with 80 watt ballasts... it might make sense.

^^^OR.... mrpet, you could ask for a 220v and buy a converter like ^^^...
