Grounding Probe Installation

Hi guys,

Could anyone tell me how to install a grounding probe. I am going to buy a Titanium probe. I was thinking I could plug this into my GFCI, but then I found out that this probe doesnt come with a 3 prong grounded plug.. I was going to get one probe for my sump and one for my tank. Thanks very much for everyone's advice.

If it has an eyelet, it can be screwed into an electrical socket. The connecting screws are supposed to be grounded, but that should be tested. Another option would be a three-prong converter with an eyelet. I think I've seen those at hardware stores.

if your house inst grounded right in even 1 spot you can fry the tank with it. like our house is grounded with both the ground and common wires

Yea, be careful with grounding probes. If you have a short, your tank acts like a capacitor, it will hold a charge. But when you add a grounding probe, it will complete the circuit and cause an amp draw through your tank. Read up on this. A lot of people won't run them.
