Group buy for the meeting and who's bring what to trade??

To start off. I have some cool news. I hope at least. I swore I would not go near ebay again. But I did. I got a used PCX-40 for $67 shipped. WHOA!! Probably going to be my closed loop on the 58g or use it for a back up pump for my system.

Now, for the meeting. Group buy on livestock or hardgoods?? Personally, when it comes to livegoods, I really only trust Liveaquaria for fish. Haven't really tried too many other places for corals. Of course there is the for sale forums on here, people are always offering frag packs.

Or do we do hardgoods?? Let me know what your feelings are either way. Maybe post a list of wants and we can go from there.

And, who is bringing what for frag trades??

If anybody has some extra pod-laced chaeto, I could really use some!! I should have my fuge running by then.

I don't have much for trade I got some frogspawn, and some zoo's I can bring if someone wants any??

I do need some clean up crew. I got the PM james what is the shipping on stuff there??

I'll order a fish or two. For corals I've ordered from MarineFlora, ExtremeCorals, and Reef Science with good results but I don't think any of those have a great guarentee like LiveAquaria.

For frags I have two regular candy canes frags ready to go, two neon green paly frags, two clove polyps frags and a couple mushrooms (red, reddish green). I fragged off a blue mushroom for myself and it made it so I can probably get more of those too. I will get some pics up of the other zoos I can frag and what I have so far. I do also have cheato although I can't grow it for crap it doesn't die either and it should have lots of pods in it.

Hardgoods I may need a few things, depends on how money looks though. Tiffany

I'd like some Frogspawn. I have zoas, mushies, kenya, hairy mushies, GSP/BSP, some candy cane, and maybe a few others by the time you guys come over.

I checked shipping is 27.00 fedex overnight and 12.00 usps priority

A few questions about that. Shipping where?? Your place or mine?? And is it $27.00 + $12.00?? If I had the choice, I would do the FedEx overnight. I found another place that has 40 blue leg hermits for $25.00 overnight.

I would like some copepods myself and found a place that has 1000+ for $29.00 or 500+ for $20 and free shipping.

If I read it right it was 27.00 for overnight and if you wanted to save on shipping they could send it usps priority for 12.00 they would still offer there arive alive. it would not matter were it would be shipped. but if you wanted to check it out just to make sure I was not reading something wrong and lrt me know. the place you sent has 50 BLH for 22.50

I wish I could order more CUC. I just don't want to have to move more stuff to the larger tank till I know we've got it up and running well. I am in the market for a ph test or monitor, ammonia and nitrite tests. If that's not what we're looking for for a group order, maybe I'll just bite the bullet and get some inverts. I dunno. Don't base your order on me though. I may be the minority here with the drygoods.

See you all soon.

What is CUC??

Also, I'd test your ammonia and trates before you get snails/crabs as they are sensitive to those high levels.

As far as a pH monitor, you can get a hand help pH stick for pretty cheap. Check the for sale forums and see what is available.

I am in the market for test kits myself. Another memeber, Dedex, who is here in TRF and new to RC is also looking for test kits. I think we could possibly do a drygoods order and a live order is necessary. We could do both. What do you think??

Sounds good to me. That is another reason I'd like to hold of on ordering my CUC (clean up crew). Well, more of them anyway. I do have a handful of astreas and a hermit or two. I'm interested in the tests first off. The rest can wait for me especially if there are others interested in drygoods.

OK Let's do it. If you want, I can order and you all can pick up and pay when you get here.

I am going to order some Salifert test kits, most likely from The Reef Stop as they have some of the lowest prices I have ever seen. I would like to keep the ordering to a single supplier to lessen the hassle. Please follow in similar fashion and we will go from there:

Mr James needs: (from an undisclosed source)
(1) Ammonia - $13.39
(1) Nitrates - 50 tests $12.99
(1) Phosphate - $11.99
(1) Alkalinity - 100 tests $8.29
(1) Calcium - 50-100 tests $13.99
(1) Magnesium - 30ppm accuracy 50 tests $16.50 out of stock

***Shipping is $15.95 - May change depending on who wants in on this order***

EDIT: I may order from another source as I was inccorect about The Reef Stop having the lowest prices.

let me know were you decide to get the drygoods I may want to get some new test kits also..

I got those prices from Aquatictech dot com under miscellaneous. If you want something from their list, post it above like I did. If everyone agrees, I will pay for it and you can pay me when you come to the meeting and pick it up.

Go ahead and list what you want Garrett.

I won't order test kits until everyone agrees to go. If you want other dry goods from them, go ahead and list it. The only reason I am ordering from them is they have lowest prices.

I'm in for test kits.

Salifert ammonia $13.39
Nitrite $10.99
Ph $9.49.

Also looking for a pump to replace our Little Giant. It can't quite get the water back up to the display tank. I think Jason has a line on one elsewhere but I'll have him check out their stuff before we order just in case.

James, I'm fine with using your cash for ordering till I can get there to pay you back. ;)

How far in advance do you have to book rooms for that Casino hotel? I need to check with my family to see if they want to do that AND find a sitter to come with since we both have an interest in this hobby. I don't think Jason would be fine with me leaving him with the kids while I got to go hang around with you all. :D

I just piucked up a GenX PCX-40 on eBay for a steal. I'd off load it into your hands, but I really had it marked for a closed loop on the 58g.

I'll mark you down for those test kits. If I may recommend (and you may want to ask which is more important in the Chemsitry Forum), but I'd skip the Nitrite and go for the Nitrate test kit. If I remember, nitrites break down into Nitrates and ultimately, that is what you DON'T want in the tank. I would also recommend getting Phosphate as that will become a pest and can cause hair algaes too.
