Group Buy Interest for Taylor SpeedStir

So, I'm trying to gauge interest for a group buy of the Taylor SpeedStir. I have access to purchase this product direct from the manufacturer at a 30% discount, $30 each. Total shipping cost would be split in half. Manufacturer pays half and we pay the other half. Of course on a substantial order I'm sure I could convince them to pay the shipping.

I own and use this product myself, so doing this is really just to help you guys and gals out. Frags would be appreciated. :)

This is one of the best products I have in my reef tool box. I use it to test Ca, Alk and Mg with Salifert test kits. To test PO4 or NO3 I would recommend removing the stir bar prior to color matching as the displacement from the stir bar would likely alter the visual color matching. This can be done by just using another stir bar or magnet to slide the used one up and out.

The only extra purchase that would be required is a 1/2 inch stir bar to fit the Salifert test vial. I'm working on getting a discounted price, but as of now they are $3 each. You could just clean and reuse one stir bar for each test or purchase a separate stir bar for every test kit.

I have to say that since I purchased this product it makes testing much faster and I've yet to splash or spill during a test. It really is a must have for the serious reefer.

If we receive substantial interest I would set a cut off date and request a confirmation of the quantities and prepayment via PayPal "gift". I'm ok with shipping to you but that would require more money. I thought perhaps I could ask a couple of our LFS's to hold everyone's order for pickup. For example, Tampa LFS holds Tampa orders and Pinellas LFS holds Pinellas orders. I'm sure they wouldn't mind the extra traffic coming through their business. This is just an idea and I have not spoke with them.

Let me know what you think.

Here is the link to the company website and a video demo.

I'm interested in where you can get a vial like that?
I made a diy one using magnets and a small motor, but this one looks more convenient.
Really cool thanks for putting it out there, sign me up! :)

Just to clarify, you can use the one test vial and stir bar that comes with the unit. It's a 25 ml vial and 1" stir bar. Or you can use the test vials that come with a Salifert test kit; however, you'll need to purchase the 1/2" stir bar. The Salifert vials are smaller, but the magnetic stir bar holds them in place. If you want to purchase the 25 ml vial alone they are $3.40 each.

For me personally, I purchased 3 extra 1/2" stir bars and use the Salifert vials. This way I can bang out all my tests in a row and then clean up.

So far we have.

Tony727 - 1 Speedstir
Robthorn - 2 Speedstirs
Rogergolf66 - 1 Speedstir and 3 stir bars.

Anyone else? I'm telling you guys, it will make testing your water fun again. Ok maybe not fun, but a lot faster.

I think its fun, you're dropping reagents into a spinning vortex!
Worth it! :)

BTW put me in for 3 small stir bars.

It's definitely a lot more fun than trying to spin with one hand and drop with the other. That's for sure.

Tony727 - 1 Speedstir and 3 stir bars. $39
Robthorn - 2 Speedstirs $60
Rogergolf66 - 1 Speedstir and 3 stir bars. $39

This will be the last bump and then I'll place the order after confirming with those already participating. You're basically saving 30% on each unit and not paying shipping. It's a great deal for a great product. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
