My "local" fish store owner told me the other day that wild caught B&W Ocellaris from Australia have been temporarily banned for sale, so that is likely driving up the price on the aquacultured ones. I'd rather have a tank-bred fish anyway, both for ease of care and lack of impact on the natural reefs. Of course, this guy might be full of it, too....

Sorry, I was just trying to be helpful. I have had my clowns for at least two years. I would like to get more black clowns, but I am to cheap. I don't have the money to be spending on fish that expensive I don't really need. I am lucky my wife lets me keep my tank considering the electric bill keeps going up every month.
If you don't belive me you can go to Petco and see neons Gobies your self for $9.99. Not all Petcos carry them and a lot of them do not keep there fish healthy. The Petco in Lake Forest usually has a good selection of healthy SW fish. Good luck with all your clowns and the group buy.
rbdesigns is butting a lot of effort to make it work for everyone and deserves a hand for it!

Josh it's not too late. We have one black ocellaris up for graps, three naked clownfish, and 6 misbar true percs. The cutoff is on Sunday night, but might be sooner because the box is almost full. I'm dropping them off on Sunday.

Will one of these weirdo clowns pair up with my existing ocean bred baby perc? And how much are these? Any pics?

Sorry to be so needy. I am looking for a clown to take the place of my husband perc who died recently. Maybe I should wait. I want to make sure the replacement clown is small and will pair up well with my remaining perc.

Clowns are not very picky about species, let alone stripe pattern. I would not worry.

You should have no difficulty providing you have an unsexed juvenile -- which the ORA clowns will 99.99% be; at least as good of a chance if not better than you will get from any other source.

Or wait another 2 or 3 months and get one of my babies ;)

Hey Josh,

Like Nicole said, you can pair any type of clown together, except Maroons and Tomatoes together.

I don't know if you want to go with a true perc, since you already have one of those. Or maybe a black Ocellaris. Jon wanted three, but only wants two now.

The true perc was $23, naked false perc $35, black Ocellaris $32.
