Group Buy Possibilities

Is there anyone who is interested in getting together to do a group buy?

There are two places that come highly recommended by various members of the seahorse forum that I belong to:

reefcleaners.org

and

sealifeinc.net

Reefcleaners is mostly snails and algae, where as sealifeinc has a variety of stuff native to Florida. Of note may be the fact that sealifeinc sells non-cured Florida maricultured rock for $3.50/lb. I don't know about you guys, but the live rock that I have purchased often has all the life cured out of it.

Just curious if anyone else would be interested.

Sounds like a great idea, I'm sure others will be interested. I may be at some point, no cash for rock or clean up crew just yet, I do need to replenish my CUC soon though. Man always something to buy, what would we spend all our money on if not for this wonderful hobby.

I would be interested in a SealifeInc order. Live rock is not included in the $35 base shipping.

I would be interested in a group buy for livestock. Maybe wait till spring though, the stock selection improves come spring if my memory serves me correctly.

also any direct air shippments, I could pick up. Harrisburg International is 2 miles from my work and 15 miles from my home.

I'm almost always at home, so could manage to be around for any package arrival. I won't promise that will be the case forever, because I will hopefully, one day, find a job. But I'm not holding my breath.

Doing just livestock is fine. With the cost of shipping... Reefcleaners will ship large orders for free. Everything in the hobby is expensive, but when you are buying $0.20 snails!

Hello i am new here, just started a 90g reef, its cycling now as a matter of fact, i would be interested in a livestock order, i need a clean up crew.

I might be interested, if they have decent prices on Nassarius snails.... let me check out their site and my finances and I'll get back to you.

It seems that reefcleaners is the same as sealife. I want a few macros but they are all out of season. I'm sure I could come up with some for a cleanup crew, but I do know that I would be interested in a group buy again in the spring.

Well, finances just changed for the worse, it turns out that again I won't be making it to the frag swap either, so maybe next time there's a group buy I'll get in on some nassarius and cerith snails.

I'm just trying to figure out if anyone is interested.

Sealifeinc -- there are items that I have wanted from Ken for a while now, but they add up to less than the flat shipping fee of $35, so I am more than willing to continue to wait until others are interested/financially able to order. And while I would love to purchase some uncured rock, its only really fiscally responsible if you order 100lbs, and I don't need (and can not afford) 100lbs.

As for reefcleaners.org, they ship for free after you hit a certain dollar amount, and since their prices are so low, it takes a lot of volume to get free shipping. Bascially, I guess we could put in an order as soon as we had enough takers to get free shipping -- their ceriths and nassarius are so much cheaper than any LFS.

reefcleaners.org are great people as well. Our club in Allentown deals with them quite a bit. John is a great guy and can help you out if you need a suggestiions on anything. Plus, you get a discount if it is a club ordering. I think it is 20-25% off before shipping. If you order from reefcleaners.org, I may be in for a few items. granted, someone would have to hold my items until I could get to pick them up.

I emailed the guys at Reefcleaners. He said that yes, some of the macros are out of season. Those macros he suggested ordering in June, but that, by that time, some of the other macros would not be available (like the codium.)

Reefcleaners has flat shipping prices, $9.95 for USPS priority, $28.95 for USPS Express; free USPS priority on orders over $100; free USPS Express on orders over $150. Perhaps if we meet at the swap we could discuss placing an order before June?

Where are we at with the idea of ordering from reefcleaners. I could use some things, and i know my brother is in need of a few things.

I am ready to order whenever. Just want as much interest as possible. As I am unemployed, I am willing to have things shipped here (will be here to get them) and am willing to drive things to people if they want. As long as it isn't wet outside (my windsheild wipers don't work. Its on my list of things to get fixed.)
