group of fire fish

I am nearing the end of stocking my tank.

40 gallon sump
skimmer-vertex in250 rated for 250 gallons
2 koralia 1400, 2 koralia 1050
tlf reactor with carbon
15 gallon fuge


live stock
small yellow tang
pair of gsm clowns
small male blue throat trigger
small-medium gold rim tang
3 dispar anthias


Everyone is dong very well so I want to make sure I dont add anything that wont do well.

I would like to add 2-4 fire fish. How will they do in the tank? Will they likely be picked on?

Gennnerally, peaceful community reef fish other than the meaner gobies won't pick on firefish, and the ones you listed shouldn't be a prob. But firefish will usually pick on each other to the point that you'll wind up with a pair or a single survivor after awhile.

My maroon clown female dragged a purple firefish into the anem. by the tail.Just grabbed it and gone!!

For sure. It takes a while before they become hostile to each other, but unless you have a bonded pair, they will eliminate the remainder.

If they could manage you, you would be in the anemone.
