Growth of my softies

Hi All,
The growth of my softies is not as fast as it could be.

1. I don't feed them any thing. Only light is on between 8 am and 8 pm.
2. Cal - 370 , Meg - 1200 , Alk - 8.3 , Nitrate - 20.
3. I use reef booster from Prodibio once in 15 days. ( miss it soem times due to my travel)

Do we have to feed softies ?
what to feed?

there is really no need to feed softies. they are filter feeders and feed from what you feed your fish and also waste. what kind of lighting? nitrates are a little bit high. other parameters?

hi , Salanity 32 , PH - 8+

I don't measure any other parameter.

I use Maxspect R420R - LED between 8 am and 8 pm.

your salinity should be closer to 35ppt…
i don't think those nitrate levels are that bad for a softy tank, as they thrive on stuff in the water anyway.

i feed my tank tropic marin Pro coral phyton…it is a powder like reef roids…once a day i get it a bit…my fish (solo fish) eats it readily and i see all my softies ( leathers, gorgonians, zoos, kenyas, and all my LPS, etc) polyps opening and closing like crazy once it hits the water…

your calcium seems a touch low, but if you don't have any LPS or SPS you should be great…some softies take up calcium too though…so more naturally it should be around 420.

honestly though i have never once checked the parameters of my tank…i have no idea where any other them sit…don't really care either…(i guess until something goes wrong) as it is and has been for four year though this tank is running great, and everything grows like a weed, with the exception of my yellow fiji leather (which has not grown an inch in the four years i have had it, literally, it is one inch around and has been so since its introduction.)
