depends on everyones systems. I have both and it took about 3 months or so for a four polyp uc to go to 12 polyp. It would probably grow faster in someone elses tank or if i place it in a different location maybe. I just recently purchased a sp and i am stoked because i can actually feed the thing (the uc never seemed to respond to food). I bought it as a one polyp frag with a baby forming and now it seems like two other babies are going to come. Just place them in a spot they like and they will grow. If something grows a certain way in ones tank it doesn't mean it will grow that way in others.
Space Monsters are fast growers.
this is just nuts. Its F'in messed up that people can claim they are fast growers yet they are 100$+ a polyp. This is just insane.
its just like the 160$ per SPS coralite i saw tyree auction off. This is just out of hand.
its just like the tropicorium, i live close to it, they have maybe 100+ polyps of PPE, and still sell it for 50$ a polyp. I understand supply and demand but they've had the same supply of 100 or so polyps for the past couple months and there doesn't seem to be any demand.
/Rant. Sorry lol
Space monster..sweet polyp none the less.
Yup..pretty sad on the price. I came across a site the other day selling Purple Hornets for $125 a polyp still when you can find them all day long now for $25/$30 per polyp..gees! At the growth rates the Space M's are going for everyone it won't be long before the bottom drops out of the too. But sadly they already have the stupid "Tyree" name attached to them...like he was the one who invented them in the ocean.
Gave several to my friend as freebies and will be cutting a bunch to give a away to my club, with the intention that they repay that by also giving them for free as the reproduce and so on, that condition also goes with those palys to whom else it goes to. Gift that keeps on giving.
