Growth rate of monti cap.

So this is about a month of growth what do you guys think? Is it going good or should this be growing faster? Here's before.

It's hard to tell because both pictures are from different angles but that looks like good growth.

Yap mine grows about half a inch to a inch a month.

Scientific name: Montipora capricornis
I think the street name is just monti cap. That's all I heard its called.

Mine has done nada for over 3 months. Still alittle frag that refuses to grow. I have other sps that are encrusting and taking off but this little bugger has refused to do anything for me.

Looks like you have great growth. That thing will be hogging up realestate in no time!

i have several in my 120 SPS tank. I have a purple cap that started growing like a weed from day 1. Otheres started slow and once encrusted just took off. Others are just slowly taking off. I guess the various species behave differently or have different requirements/preferances.

lol me too. Monti's and birds do zip for me. I have acro's growing over an inch a month ... encrusting like crazy and branching. But caps and birdies stay exactly the same. Confusing.

Yea that is pretty good, what else is in your tank? I have had the same thing for about 3 weeks, mine is in the sand bed and has had about that much growth.
