Growth Rate

So I have 3 LPS in my tank, a Duncan, Frogspawn and Trumpet. My question is on the growth rate of the Frogspawn and Trumpet.

The reason I only ask about those 2 is because when I bought my Duncan, it had 7 heads. Well about 8 months later, and the last time it was fully closed I counted about 38 heads. The thing is growing great and I love it.

However, I bought a 2 head trump and frogspawn about 1 month after the Duncan. The trumpet still only has 2 heads no bigger than original and the frogspawn is still about the same size as well.

Are those 2 corals just slow growers?

My trumpets grow and split pretty fast... I have the neon greens.

I got 5 heads and now I think I have 30 broken over 4 colonies... in about 12 months.

But then fast/slow is relative.

No, I have considered doing that, I know it helps. But I haven't been target feeding my Duncan either and it's doing great.

I've found Duncans are so good at catching food that just feeding the tank gives them plenty of big meals. I'd say give target feeding a go and see if you notice much effect.

I rarely direct feed mine. Light, Ca/Mg/CO3, and a refugium/scrubber.
