ok so this is my purple tang;

my purple tang has been stunted... and when compared to other purples of his size (about 4" to the base of the tail) he is different. not sure in what way since ive never put him side by side with another tang, but he is.. (best way i can describe him is small and stocky like a pitbull lol)

another reason i say so is that he had lived in a 75 for about 2 years before i acquired him, so im positive this has had an impact of his size.

now for my question; how will this continue to affect him? currently he is in my 120g with plenty of swimming room. (see pic below)

Ive had fish that were stunted but I never really noticed if it affected the overall health of the fish. I rescued a YT from a 40g a few yrs ago that never got bigger than 3". I put him in a 210g and he was fine for another 4 yrs before I took the tank down.

Thing is, a 120 (( assuming yours is a standard 120 )) doesn't have any more linear swimming room -- left to right -- then a standard 4 foot 75, so I not sure how much things will change.

True but over all there is more space and the 75 was a bow front.
