for thows of you who have MH lighting what wattage, and K bulb are you using. and what's your growth rate under them. i've been thinking of going from a 20 k to a 14 k and wanted to know if i should just go back to 10 k for as far as growth is concerned. i really like the look under the 20 k but the growth of the 10 k and i'm thinking of going with a 14 k to b/c logic says that i would have thegrowth and the color that i want with 14k.

under 15k I get good growth and good color, but under 10k on the platinum zoos and palys I get exceptional growth and ok color. wouldn't use it for a display, but as a farm system it works nicely, just keep in mind that any non-platinum zoos will pretty much fizzle out under 10k's...

what exactly do you mean by platinum?

14k's here... 10k's I tried look like crapola... but I only use halides... no supplementation

Time and a stable system is the best combination for zoa growth.

MH setups do give off a lot of light, but there are people in here with PC's that have killer zoa growth.

Plus, MH's can wash out/bleach some zoas/palys. So they can't even be under the full strength of the MH.

Do yourself a favor and use the bulb that looks nicest to your eyes. The corals really don't buy into the marketing schemes of kelvin temperature.
