Any comments are welcome...This is my 1st coral I have ever owned so bare with me. Its reacting quite well to the flow as you can see the left side is more active than the right. Im thinking its due that the powerhead is on the left side and the powerhead on the right is being blocked by some L.R. Do they like flow or should I move it?

congrats! They'll do well just about anywhere... too well sometimes! You might want to put them on a isolated rock, otherwise they can spread and over grow other corals you get the in future.

Place them right in the middle of several small rocks...In about 2-3 months....You'll have several gsp rocks...Then you can trade for new stuff at you local lfs....Congrats......Now your doomed....There is no cure for this drug.....

I have found that my GSPs grow a lot more rapidly under heavy flow. They didnt grow much until i put them about 5 inches away for a maxijet 1200 with a hydroflow(sp) on it........since then its on. lol

It will grow rapidly and almost fuse your rock together. Mine started out just a palm size piece and now covers 3 4 or 5 pound rocks that don't come apart anymore. You will love it! It wass my first too and still one of my favorites.

Please post pics are you get your new coarls we like to see what else is out there!!!

The latest pictures are on the first post. I dont have any other corals this is my first and only one I got right now. I've contacted the seller and asked if he had anymore and he said he has green zoos and Im interested. He said he would sell me it shipped for 25bucks (20polyps).Is that a good deal?

From what I can tell about fraggin this wild stuff...... rip it off, cut it off and stick it where you want it. I just tear off a section and wedge it between 2 rocks and it "takes root" so to speak.

Rip the purple stuff off? I was thinking of chiseling a part of it off when it grows on the whole thing. Then sticking it on another small piece of rock.

NOT on the piece you have pics above! IMHO it's way to smal and possibly fragile to make a move like that. On mine I have a thick leathery type purple base. In some places it just grows outward and not attached to anything. That it the part that I rip off. Where it is trying to take over other parts I don't want it....every couple of days I reach in a "peel or pry" it of the spot and let it flow in the water. Then when it is big enough take that part and cut it off.
I'm not a pro but I beg you to give your little guy some time to grow and reproduce before tryiung to frag it. It will grow rapidly. Did you see the link I sent last?

LOL of course im not fragginig a frag! Im waiting a couple of months to monitor is growth then deciding when its time to frag.

OKAY! Sorry I paniced...I thought possibly you might just be as impatient as I am to have things grow. I use my nano to grow all the "littles" I find and then piece them out that way. To answer your Q: more simply. Yes it's just that easy. The fleshy purple under side is fairly sturdy. Keep us posted on the little guys growth. I'll try to find my just got GSP and what I frag from now pics.

LOL.....yeah ummm, I'm camera stupid! I will do this for you though, next time I frag or harvest depending on the size, I'll make an amature video of how I do it that particular time. It will be another 2 weeks most likely, but I will let you see the way I peel and the way I butcher the poor thing. It seems tot like it so hopefully no death threats will follow!! :D

currently I have 6 different colors of the GSP started on a big rock in my tank .. When they grow togeather it will lok awsome .. I plan on putting rocks inbetween colors to get multi color frags eventually to trade :) ...

Stuff frags so easy . I had a small slice I had put on the rocks in a hole and the green hair algae started to over run that color .. So I cut a couple small pieces from the clear spot and glued them to a frag disc .. they are spreading fast on it .. Before you know it I will have traidng material :)

Yes once you start corals you will be hooked :) Good luck
