great piece but im with menard its a little pricey.... let it grow man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

paininthewrasse, It looks awesome, but I wouldn't go for it at that high of a price.

You might want to check out FragFarmer or AtlantisAquarium to see what they price them for before you frag.:)

BTW, two of our local stores have sold similar 3-5" colonies for the $150-200 price, so maybe we're just spoiled!

Are any of your familiar w/ the prices of watermelon echino though? I paid $200 for a frag no bigger then the size of my thumb nail last year...

Hello
And who's fault was that...

Man o man, do I hate this kind of stuff. I hate to do it... but that photo is the exact photo taken from Atlantisaquarium.net website where they are selling the coral for $60, and it is rotated 90 degrees. I wasn't going to say anything, but I do appreciate honesty in this hobby. I am getting out soon, and this is just another reason why. By the way, I just made a frag of my watermelon last week that I sold for $50. I think that was a fair price.

Wow, thank you for pointing that out.. jmcmahon66 I was emailed because I posted on this thread http://reefcentral.com/forums/showt...threadid=917305 and someone offered me the colony pictured in which I posted in this thread.. I was only going to buy it if someone was interested in part of it because I cant really afford $500... I was going to buy it for $500 which I thought was a good price considering I bought a frag of watermelon before for $200 but my angel I had at the time ate it... Anyway I have a feeling it might have been a scam or somthing now since thats not really his pic.. I emailed the guy and said it was pointed out to me that the photo he provided was the one from atlantis..

Thanks again

On frags.org, someone sells frags of "Tyree's Watermelon" that looks exactly like that, and may well be... $175, out the door, something like 1/2 inch frags. Check it out

$175 / frag = ummmm, no.

Absolutely gorgeous though.
