Dave, does this fixture have glass or acrylic covers for the T5s and Metal Halide lamps or are they exposed?

You will put yourself in the hospitol like I did. You'll get flashburns. (like arc wlding without googles)

That was the day I thought I was cool.

It only took a couple glances at the bulb split seconds at a time.

Next morning I couldn't even open my eyes like someone poked it with a stick and sprinkled sand in it. I thought I was going blind. After the eye doctor took a look, she said my eyes appeared a bit cooked. Luckily there were no signs of permanent damage. She sent me home with some antibiotics (like the ones you get for lasik)

After about 6-10 hours I was at it again hanging the light and turning it on, with the glass.

Anytime. Most DE bulbs are very different to SE when it comes to UV protection. SE bulbs has the outer glass while most DE don't. Elos DE bulbs are the only ones that I know of that has an outer UV glass built in.
