Guess what arrived at ShoTank today?

Don't you love it when you get a message from your LFS letting you know that your fish has arrived? :)

Check out my latest arrival, a Male Watanabe angel. He's going to live in a 100g system on his own for a while for QT purposes, then he's going in the display with the rest of the fish. I have a female Watanabe now and she's got to come out of the display first and go live somewhere else for a while. Once the male is settled, i'll re-add the female. The things we'll go through for a fish!

And now for some pics. This was from ShoTank today. Excuse the images but i'm too lazy to color correct right now. I'll post some better pictures when he's in the display.

Thanks again to Matt at ShoTank and his supplier for tracking down the fish.

I've never seen one of those and I've been in this hobby for years. Fantastic fish! And it's always nice to see something new. Thanks!

Sho tank has livestock? I don't see it on the site. Where are they located?

The site only lists their equipment, they are in Mundelein near Gurnee.

He was definitely tough to get. I've only ever seen one other in three years. They don't come around much and when they do, they don't last long! I happened to mention to Matt that I wanted one and Voila... here he is!

That is a fat fish! Congrats E.D.

Thanks Joe. He's definitely a nice specimen. Now I just have to catch that fat female out of the display so I can get the male in.

He carries Freshwater and Saltwater. SPS/LPS/Softie's as well. Definitely worth a visit. Right now he's got two SWEET purple file fish that I would have bought if I had room. Gotta wait until the 275g is up though. He also has two male Genicanthus melanospilos (Zebra Swallowtail) that were awesome. Lots of cool fish in there today.

Absolutely stunning!

Why thank you ladies! I certainly appreciate the compliment. :p

... oh wait ... you probably meant the fish. :)

I waited almost 8 months for a pair of these They arrived on a monday and my tank broke two weeks later. $650 dollars, 8 months of waiting and 2 weeks of sweeeeet rare fish i miss them very much they were like dogs!

That sucks man!

I've been staring at the female Watanabe for almost 2 years wanting to pair her up.

The male is awesome though ... he swims to the top of his QT tank and spits water at me when I go by. That rocks. :)

I had a Bellus Trio (1M/2F) that were just awesome. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that the females tend to pick on the males so having two females is not such a hot plan... speaking of large amounts of cash down the tubes and the loss of some really awesome fish. :(
