so I hve 2 tunze 6000's 1 6100, and 2 6095's. I have the 7095 controller, which pumps would be best and what settings on the controller would make the best gyre type flow in a 75 gal.? ill be asking this question again when my 300 gal is up and running, that will be 4'wide, 5' long and 30" tall.

thanks for your help.

I would use either the 6000's or 6095's, the BRS video that was recently released does a great job demonstrating how to set up the pumps, they use the 6085 which is non variable, the basic set up would be the same, but I would use two alternated every 6 hours to replicate tides and pulse the pump slowly from say 50%-100% every 4 seconds, the second pump would idle at 30%, this will be a somewhat disrupted gyre with the Interval 2 as the other pump will be running against the flow, and every 6 hours it will change directions. You could eliminate the idle speed and use Interval 1, my fear would be that this would be too little flow for some animals.

thanks for the help, I was just curios because they used a narrow head pump and not the wide flow pump like the 6095's

6095 has the same output diameter as the 6085 and 6000 but the flow is more turbulent as it lacks the crosshatch which is similar in purpose to a rudder it kind of straightens out and aims the flow, instead you get more of the swirling from the propeller motion.
