H. Magnifica care

I had one for 5 years a while back and just got another a few months ago.

Ive never had an issues with mine moving around due to nitrates as the tank my last one was in had nitrates that stayed around 40. Though it might be a change that does it.

Both of mine walked around for a bit till they found a place they liked. Which I found was usually at the highest point on a rock and in some med to heavy flow.

I kept mine under 400w halides with radium bulbs.

My last one topped out at about 14" before the crash, current one is about the same. Most of them Ive seen are around 12-18" across, but I have seen one what was in the 28-30" range and took up half of a 120g.

Just make sure they can't get in a power head. Mine took a walk one day and got in one of my power head and it killed all fish except my clowns. The mag recovered and is doing great. It had only been in the tank a couple of weeks when it wondered into the power head. That was two years ago and hasn't moved since.
