how much light did you have on it? casue my mag can't seem to get enough light, sometimes he climbs right up the glass and sits right under the halides

Mine hasn't moved yet. He is still in the same spot, on the rock, I placed him on when I brought him home. He was on one end of a 55gl tank. There are two 4' standard 40W actinics, four 55W compacts, and one 175W 10K MH directly over it. This is the lighting that caused him to slowly bleach. How much light do you have over your tank?

 I hope your luck doesn't change. Got any pics?

That is pretty weird. Hows the water movement in the tank? Can a lack of or too much water movement cause an anemone to bleach from stress? I wish the best of luck for you to figure out what's going on and bring it back to full health again.

Thanks.
For water movement in the 29, there is a 950gl/hr return pump feeding a spray bar that runs allong the bottom, the length of the back of the tank. It is BB. I have a small power head in each of the top front corners. I don't remember the name brand, but they say "Powerhead 201" in blue writing on them. I've had them from the under gravel / crushed coral days. There is no wave device in this system. I will see if my LFS has one in stock, or steal the one off the wife's tank.;)

Well..... It's been over three months, and I haven't managed to kill it yet. It still has some improving to do to get back to where it was. It does seem to slowly be getting better. I bought it a new 14K 250W MH, and started keeping the blinds open in my fish room. The Florida sun lights the room up quite a bit. I have noticed that it seems to do much better when I feed it small meals a few times a day. I have been feeding the clowns 3 times a day. I use live glass shrimp, young live minnows, Formula one frozen and flake, and PE Mysis. If the shrimp or minnow is to large for the clowns to swallow they take it back to the Magnifica. What it doesn't get from the clowns, it grabs from the water on its own, so it is eating 3 times a day. I'm not sure how nutritious Formula one is for anemones, but he sure seems to like it.
Here's a pic from today. Sorry the pic is so blue, it's the new 14K. Let me know what you think about its health from the pic, and about the feeding schedule. Thanks

I just noticed this. It's foot seems to be pulling away from the rock. You can see the section about an inch long where the foot is not attached. Any ideas? It doesn't look good to me.

From my experience that food is way too big. feed it something small first like the size of your thumb nail then work your way up.

The food it's eating is small. Smaller than my thumb nail. I think you may have misunderstood something I said. It's eating fish food like Formula one, live fresh water shrimp, and young minnows.

He did this, the first week of June.

He looked like this for more than a week after the pic above.

At that time he wouldn't eat, and I thought for sure he would die. He has slowly improved though. He is back to eating and his expansion is improving. His mouth has not gaped open in about the past month. I started skimming wetter, which also causes my ATO to dump more Kalk into the system.

Thats is what mine looks like one day great and one day poor. I dont get it..... Will not eat at all. Mine has been doing this for the last 2-3 weeks.

I also skim very wet, what does the kalk do for it?

no set time I also run a fuge on the reverse sheduale of my dt lights. The larger of mine just started to move it moved from one side to the middle top now. We will see. All my paramets are spot on. I wonder how long they take to die? They will not eat again there tentacles are not sticky.

Hmmm, i have had one for a little over a month and definitely looks much better in the morning than in the evenings. Starts out looking really good then gets a little deflated each evening. Its pretty much directly below 400w MHs so maybe i'm giving mine too much light. PH rises during the day some, so as PH is rising it gets worse, but i don't think that's the issue.

Many people on here disagree with me on this, but when my anemones are struggling like that, I start doing large frequent water changes. Some people feel that water changes only stress the anemone out. I believe that anemones expand and contract in an attempt to rid themselves of something that is causing them stress. In a closed system this substance doesn't go far. When the anemone expands it takes up a portion of what it is trying to get rid of. If a water change is done correctly, I don't see how it can be stressful to the inhabitants. If I were in a factory and there was an ammonia leak, I wouldn't want my environment to improve slowly. I would run for the door and get to fresh air ASAP. If I have reason to believe there is something in my water causing my anemone stress, I'm going to remove it as fast as I can. I have had to deal with this anemone going through the expansion/contraction symptoms twice so far. It seems as though I have pulled it through both times by changing its water. This is far from a conclusive scientific study, but it's what has worked for me in the past, and seems to be working for me now.

Since your anemone is so high up how does it do when you water level goes down and the anemone is exposed to air? Mine is 3" below the surface and I can only do 10g water changes on my 60 tank. I am also going to make a log and maybe so doxycline(sp)
