I'm looking to getting a pair of these guys tank bred, what do I absolutely need to know about them?

How long do they live?

How big do they get?

Anyone already have some? Pics would be cool too.

That a pair of reidi are not appropriate for an 18 gallon tank (or are you planning to get them a different tank?) That clownfish are generally not recommended as tankmates.

Reidi can grow quite long -- 8" to 10" wouldn't be uncommon. Not the largest seahorse, by any means (pots and ingens, and possibly the kellogies, duke it out for that title), but they aren't small.

If the seahorses come from a good source and are properly taken care of, they can live five or six years, or more, but the majority do not reach that age.

typically, most peep's SH live 3-5 years, but as Elysia mentioned, it can be longer.

i'd get TRUE CB SH from a reputable breeder...the "bargain" "tank bred" SH that are often at the LFS (they usually run about $25-$30) are not TRUE CB from closed systems.

must knows:

keep them cool...70*F to 74*F max.

feed them daily (they do not have a true stomach and cannot store food for digestion)

nothing that stings, or aggressive/fast-swimming fish as tankmates...sorry, clownfish fall into this category.

altho it can be done, min. tank size for a pair of larger sp. SH is about 29 gals. tank should be on the taller side as opposed to longer.

also...

lots of live macro is GREAT for SH.
