You can run it a little wetter, but then you will still have to empty every few days :). Unless you have a drain installed.

Are you running Ozone thru the skimmer.

Thanks Brian,

When you say "side", do you mean thru the cylinder?

Seem a little trickier to do that that just thru the bottom of the cup.

Also, do you have a recommendation on the the most approriate fitting to use?

Dom_P,

I think drilling the bottom of the cup is less risky than drilling into the acrylic side, but drilling the bottom may be a matter of clearance (the neck and the outside wall of the cup look pretty close) and what type of fitting you use. John Guest makes a really nice 1/4" and 3/8" mini bulkhead that I thought would work.

It's really a toss-up between the Deltec or the H&S...according to the specs, Deltec has a 5" diameter and the H&S 4". All the other dimensions/specs are pretty close. Depending on what your reef's needs are, the Deltec is rated for a larger tank, but don't know if that's worth an additional $125.00!

jnb,

Home Depot and Lowes sell the flexible rubber couplings. You can find them in the plumbing department, usually in the area where they have drainage/sewer items.

:D

Just adding some more skim to this scummy thread...(this is with no bioload except 100lb of rock that has been cooked for 4 months) :)

I would like to know if that rubber fitting came with the skimmer and what the white plastic thing is showing at the rubber exit

No it does not come with the skimmer. You can get it as catastrofe said at Home depot, Reno depot, Lowes, those kind of stores depending your area. The white fitting inside might be a reducer as it does not come with it usually. I bought something similar for my skimmer and its working great!

210 Gallon Reef Ttank

210 Gallon Reef Ttank

Brian, looking for an internal skimmer for a 210. Don't want real large footprint. What would you recommend?

Hi, i'm thinking about getting the A110-F2000 for a 26g BB sps tank (total volume around 50g) which will be set up in a few months. I was thinking about getting the skimmer now though and setting it up on my current 40g mixed reef which doesnt have a sump but i have a ledge right behind the tank which would be a perfect spot to set the skimmer on.

I was wondering how many microbubble the skimmers produces though? It wouldnt be a problem on the sps tank because the sump would have bubble traps but on the 40g the return from the skimmer would go straint into the tank.

Thanks
