Nothing???

I'm a Youtube n00b. Say that 10 times fast. It's still "Video Processing" ... It should be online in a few minutes. I'm watching it like a hawk.

Alright! Looks to me like that should work. A few things. Try screwing in the clamp on the air some and see if you can get those bubbles a little more fine and to start creating some foam.

OK. It's ready now. I swear. Just tested it. I apologise, you'll have to turn your heads clockwise...

Looks like it is almost set correctly you have a little more turbulence on the top than i like to but that will calm it self down when the skimmer calms down .
Looks like your water surface tension is broken i don't know from what, it may be from Feeding/ using Selcon , New pluming, hands in the water , new skimmer ,or no organics in the water for the skimmer to pull.
I will do two things cut back some of the feed water and the air .
Keep the water level about half way to the neck tube .
Don't play with the tank or the skimmer for two or three days just set it and forget it ....

I agree with Zoom. You're close now, maybe the slime needs to rebuild inside the skimmer... but I don't have any doubt that it will kick up again... any day now. DON'T MESS anymore with it as you're there after you you take the remainning steps that Zoom recommends.

After 4 days off, I go back on nights tonight. The perfect time to say "The heck with it" and just let it do it's thing.

I'm only going to do my single pinch of flake, and thats it.

I'm about to join this club, tell me, will an A200 1260 model run circles around my ASM G4x on a 210 reef?

With ease.

Is there any way to make the footprint smaller without causing permanent damage?

<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=8741932#post8741932 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by djtodd
Nope. None whatsoever.

no, i wouldn't do that. it would probably void warranty.

Yeah, I don't want to do that. :) Was trying to avoid ripping baffles out of my sump but that seems avoidable.

I'm getting the external used for $800 and it's only a few months old so I never considered the in-sump model. From looking at the dimensions of the in-sump one I'd still have to remove these baffles.

For sure bud..........

My main reason for considering this skimmer is because the ASM tends to be stable for a few days and then simply goes nuts dumping any skimmate it accumulates. A friend of mine as the 150a model and loves it. He said it has never overflowed on him.

Of course a skimmer being able to pull out more organics would be nice too. :)
