Probably Apparently, because that the pumps spins strong and the material doesn't collect anything as most would think that it will, so every 3-4 months when his customers have taken the pump out to check, nothing, it's been clean. T

Thats good to hear.

There is no doubt that it will perform well, those sicce pumps draw alot of air. And they're the perfect solution to a small sump area.

I look forward to your reviews.

Cheers,

Jim

This is a 5-6 week update. I figure that my new H&S skimmer has caught up from what my Euro-Reef left behind, but it didn't take long as my ER skimmer was doing well. After 5 weeks, I have to say that this is one of the best needlewheel skimmer I have purchased to date. This unit skims consistently and daily it is collecting something. I don't see any down time at all. But since catching up, the amount of skimmate is less. Instead of filling the collection cup every 4-5 days, it has settled to a consistent 7-8 days to fill the cup. I am still getting the same quality skimmate as in this earlier photo. Again, the actual color isn't as dark as what shows in this photo. I am so glad that Ed talked me out of the A200 Short as I can see that I didn't need it based on my bioload and feeding pattern. Saved me over $500 with the couple of mods I had done.

I'm glad to be in the club and recommend H&S skimmers to anyone really wanting a high quality, high performance skimmer. Although a bit pricey, it's worth every dollar in my opinion.

Reef Sponger,
That looks awesome.

I'm getting about half of that every 5-7 days. . . But I have a 90G which I would categorize low-medium stocking

I just received my A200 (2) 1260 and I have a few questions. I bought this skimmer used and it came with a 20mm inlet.

What is the barbed fitting on the inlet that everyone is using and any part numbers?

Does the barbed fitting work with the 20mm inlet union?

I would really like to hard pipe this skimmer, for some reason I do not like the clear tube with the barbed fitting.

Anyone hard pipe their skimmer?

Would it be ok if I used a 20mm X 1/2 union or would it be to much of a reduction?

Thanks,
Jason G.

20mm x 1/2" or 25mm x 3/4", are you sure yours is 20mm since the Fins Reef website reads that the barb fitting should be 3/4"? You should give Fins Reef a call as they can probably help you.

I am also trying to hard plumb my a150. The inlet is 3/4, but it is not pipe thread(no taper)...Any recomendations? I have thought of tapping a pvc fitting but i dont know if the NF has the same pitch?? But if i can find the right part then i will go that road.

hi im a member of the club aswel... got a 200-2xF2001

im wery happy width the skimmer but im upgrading after a tank chras and i not sure the skimmer will ceep up width a well stockd 250gallon tank....

therfor i loocking for a bigger skimmer.... i realised that the 200-2x1260 are rated for 2200l system and feel that that skimmer would be a better choise for the new system!

as i loock on the specs on the skimmers i see that there is sligthly anny diferenses on the two skimmers. the 200-2xF2001 has a 40mm return pipe an ofcourse aquabee pumps. and the 200-2x1260 has a 50mm refturn, eheims and ar 5mm taller....

i can`t see the big differenses on theese two... would`n it be posible to change the pumps and upgrade the return to a 50mm pipe instead and then have a upgraded skimmer.

(awere that changing the skimmer will break the warenty)

hoping on some positive answers here:)

The newer model 250 with in 10" diameter body and 2x Eheim pumps will be a better choice than the 200-2x1260 with the 8" diameter body. If you just want to modify your 200, maybe you can add a 3rd Aquabee pump so it is same as 200-3xF2001.

Add me to the club

Hey guys,

I stayed up way past mid night reading as many threads as I could on skimmers. After reading every thing I decided to join the H&S club. I went to Fins Reef last night and they were showing that they were out of stock on the A150-F2001 #16142 so I sent them an email asking them to give me a call and let me know when they would get them in and to discuss what would best meet my needs. Early this morning Brian at Fins Reef gave me a call. He said there has been so much demand that he normally has the units on back order. However, he had just gotten a shipment in and apparently someone had decided to cancel. So I told him to box it up!!!!

Brian seems to be an extra nice guy. He exceeded my expectations. How can anyone do better than that? He gave me free shipping and told me if he possibly can he will ship it out this afternoon and I'll have it on Saturday!!!!! Now that is what I call service.

I'm sure, after reading all of the great reviews I am going to be extremely happy with my new H@S skimmer. And now I even have a club! woooooooooohoooooooo! (LOL)

No, you definitely won't be disappointed. Good luck with your unit.

Yes, I saw that as well on the out of stock. I heard they just got their shipment last Friday and already completely sold out except I see they have 1x 300-3x1260 left. Now, that's popular, a entire shipment sold out as it lands on US soil.

I'm glad I reserved my Denitrator. Looks like the dealer I purchased from may only have 1x A150 left and completely sold out on A200. I've never heard of popularity like this.

Thanks AJ! I'm very sure I won't be disappointed. People always complain when something good cost a lot but I've never heard anyone say once they have it "hey this thing is way too good for me I should have gotten something of lesser quality".

I'm glad to be aboard I'll post some pics when I get it all set up. I'm sooooo stoked!

RS,
Thanks to you too! for the warm welcome! Also I'd like to say thanks for starting the club and all the information you have put out for the rest of us.

I think I will be. I was pretty hard-pressed to even find negative posts about H&S products. The skimmer should be arriving the 26th!

question about back pressure...what is the deal with it on the A-150?? Will it kill performance or is some tolerable??

pm me if you may help. I am about to plumb mine in the next few days or so.
thanks
