Just purchased the Fluval Evo V Nano Reef tank and have put sand and live rock in and started the cycle process. Was wondering what would be some good fish to put in there and what corals? Thank you for your time.

Please wait until the cycle is complete first. There is plenty of info on this forum to assist you in that.

As far as what fish and coral to put in after the cycle has completed, that is really up personal preference! Look around at fellow members tank builds and grasp ideas from there.

What corals and fish do YOU like?
It is YOUR tank after all..

Personally I would just fill it with old socks and bubblegum.. ;)

In the Nano forum, people should be happy to answer any question about Nano Tank setups.

Plan ahead, so you can keep things that are happy together without having to give up things you really really want to keep in your own tank and don't overstock.

I perfer clownfish cuz they make sounds to eachother.

They work best if you don't add other fishes to the same tank because, they will guard, their favourite spot if any other fishes are around. If left alone, you get the chance to see them dance around together in every part of their territory (your tank) in the evening when the evening light setting is on. During the daytime they mostly guard their turf and chit-chat together.

If choosing to host clownfishes, notice that some species swim in up&down movements and others swim from side-to-side, so you get some that move in the way you like best.

Corals comes in some categories that you need to know before getting them ofcourse, some want clean-clean-clean water, others needs more nutrition to remain in the water column.

Some corals have night tentacles that can grow so long they kill your other corals and some corals are more toxic than others, so they can be bad in smaller tanks with the wrong company.

Usually, I find all the information needed to quickly screen if a coral is something I can use, by typing [care] and the name of the coral or fish, in Google and finding pages from this webpage, Animal-World.com:

http://animal-world.com/Aquarium-Coral-Reefs/Green-Star-Polyps

Along with the huge amount of information on WetWebMedia.com, you can quickly learn if a coral got long toxic stinger tentacles or are known to be weak to the toxins of a specific other coral etc.

Have great fun, the oceans basically needs us to start getting better at maintaining Marine life and Marine life circles and food chains, so do enjoy your self, every little contribution counts in the long run.
