Had some "fun" today

Picked up a 30 gal Oceanic glass cube tank (no overflow) with a stand at the Scrap Swap. It was quite a mess to clean up as it had just been torn down that morning to bring to the swap (It belonged to Doug, the owner of Aqualife). The plan is to turn it into a FW planted tank. Yeah Yeah...this is a reef club forum.....it just might end up a reef in the end.....but for now, we'll call it a FW planted tank. :crazy1:

Soaking in vinegar and water. It was covered with coraline pretty solid on 2 walls. I should have taken a before shot. Also 2 sides of the tank were painted. I only want the back painted.....so I started working at it with a razor blade.

Discovered I had a can of goof off.....still alot of work but scraping went much faster. Paint pile. = )

Just kidding....that's my 2 gallon fluval spec. :wave:

I got a great price!!!! And it really wasn't too bad to clean up the coraline. The paint on the side was a pain. Haven't decided if I'm going to take the paint off the back and repaint it or just leave it. Probably just leave it.

Cool. I will definately take you up on that. I still need lighting for it. Thought about using my 150 watt MH since nobody wants to buy it.....but.....probably not. = )

Yes. Steve. I was joking. The tank I'm cleaning up is a 30 gal. The tank that's already running is only 2 gal.

No, it's not a reef tank. It's not even Saltwater. I'm posting this here so Rafael can see that I really AM doing something with this tank.

After my car broke down yet a third time today.....to distract myself from being extremely furious that it wasn't fixed properly the first 2 times, I decided I needed to drag the tank and whatever I had to set t up, up stairs.
I picked up a 2 bulb T5 at Your Reef, and some Eco complete plant substrate at Aqualife yesterday. I was going to wait till I had rock and driftwood to put in there and a few plants.....but really needed the distraction today!

I'm going to have to trade out the actinic for another 10K bulb. But figure that will work till it's cycled and I'm ready to put plants in.
I also had picked up an AC Jr at the Scrap Swap. I hooked the lights and all up on that and plan to set up a second tank in that room eventually. I'm only using 4 outlets for this one. Overboard? Yeah....probably.....but hey....I like things that run themselves.
