Anyone locally have one?
If so, please share your experiences with them. I am tossing around the idea of getting one.
also, does anyone locally carry them that you know of?

Thanks-

The 2 i have are Awesome red and blue Ive had the r for about 20 mths and the b for 45 mths. I like the relation w/ clowns the most, the red is a FISH eater! They are pretty dirty find my self doing alot of water change to help the sps out! Hard thing is finding a healthy 1 cause they are poor shippers from what i have read. Mine came AA here red in greeley1 blue from a local the broake dwn system) Do some research first as always, you are welcome to stop in and check mine out the r is like 16 in and b is 8! LMK C

Go to Reefhotspot.com, they have them all the time. I'm pretty sure they will qt one for a month before you buy it. Just ask them, they are really nice and helpful.

jreece, thanks for the heads up.
As of now I have one. joeyg was kind enough to deliver one to me on sunday. It is a green haddoni about 6" around. They rescued it from petco as it was not looking so good. I am now trying to nurse it back to health, though things aren't looking so hot.
It is in my sandbed at the base of a rock and hasn't moved since sunday, though it hasn't attached itself yet.
It has a slight tare in the foot, and the mouth is gaping open.
I'll give it a few days to settle in and hopefully it starts looking better...

what does starting it in a container do?
I think at this point moving it would just stress it out more?

little update:
came home today and it has attached itself to the base of a rock. Its foot doesn't look fully secured, but its a step i guess...
also his mouth isn't AS open as it was before. hopefully things keep moving forward

The only reason for a container is cause if things turn South fast you can remove the peices of flesh cause when they die they will just melt and i tell ya you dont want that $hit in your water!!!!!! Also you will knoe if it healthy cause it should dig in the sand and find a foot hold! Sounds like you rescued this one so good luck! Id ask Qs on the anemone forum there are alot of peps that like the Haddoni and are very smart when it comes the these anemones! Good luck C

Follow up please! I had a long tentacle green carpet, but it didn't make it. It looked great for about 1 month, than down in flames. I have great water permas, peops on the board who know me can tell you that. I think they are really testy at first, Charlie knows best. I saw they have a sweet deal on a blue xl at reefhotspot.com today! Good luck, I agree with Charlie it can go south quick. Had one hit the main return pump and blew my PS in the sump, bad news to say the least.

well, yesterday it detached itself from the base of the rock and went back in the sand. Last night it was deflated and the mouth was opening wider. I took Charlie's advise and put him in a container. This morning it was inflated again, but the mouth is still gaping. I'm wondering how long I should go before I try to feed him? I figure there is no use until his mouth is closed up and looking better?

I was looking at that blue one on reefhotspot. I just couldn't spend that kind of money on one until I know for sure I can keep one healthy and thriving. Also, i'm not sure how i feel ordering one online with how finicky they are for the first few months...
I would much rather prefer to find a healthy one locally in the future. though that could be very difficult to do!

Id give it a week till it calms down, when you do feed i do small peice of muscle, clam something that will be easy to digest! Something that dont have a shell (krill) or skeleton (silverside)

where is a good place to buy fresh muscles and clams?
do you just get them at kings or safeway?

I buy my muscles, all i feed my Haddonis @ King soopers they are deshelled already they are calld GREENSHELL MUSSEL MEAT by Sealord!

thanks, i'll check it out this evening and maybe he'll be ready to eat this weekend...

I also soak my food in vitachem and solcom, pretty much any vitaman based addative will boost nutrients! Hope ive been helpfull!

well, i yanked it today. the last few days it just kept declining. mouth was really open (like an inch in diameter) and today i noticed it was melting away.
