Haddoni can eat a baby Gigantea?

I came home today at 3pm, the baby Giantea was still on a base of a rock, i went to at make dinner, ate, and cleaned up.....that is about 2 hours after i last saw the Gigantea. When i check on it again it disappeared. I spent more than an hour looking all over a 4 foot x2foot tank and no where to be found. i know if he let go of the rock, he would flow pass the haddoni, which is about 10" diameter and he is only about 3".

Could a haddoni be eating another carpet? :(

I wouldn't put it past a Haddoni to do that.

A while back I put an LTA in my 75 -- waiting for someone to pick it up -- and it released from its spot and went into my Haddoni. Lucky for it I was close by to pull it from the Haddoni, but the Haddonis mouth was already opening up like it does when I feed it.

hi all

ok it's my fault to blame the haddoni. i found the tiny carpet under the rock that is located under all rocks, this was a tough task, bottom line is i am happy now.

Do i place him at the top rock with holes in it or do i set him at the bottom so he can find the sand bed? do they like the sand or the rock? i keep haddoni all my life but never a giantea so it's all new to me.

thaks for your help.

Gigs will prefer to be on the rocks.

Long term I think you are going to have issues trying to keep both of these happy. Gigs like lots of flow, whereas Haddonis don't.

for keeping the haddoni for about say 10 yrs, i kind of know they dont really like to be blast at, so at the spot where they are now, they are happy. as for the Gig, it is now at the top rock with hole in it and seems like alot of flow as the surface is where the most flow take place. i just hope this one make it, can't ask for more than that.

My oldest is about 11 years old, was just trying to help. Good luck

No doubt you are trying to help. appreciate it.

so you think my Gig will be happy being at the top with lots of water movement? the current is alternating so it's not like the anemone keeps getting blast at at all time.......

My Gigantea is directly in the path of the return line 24 hours a day and hasn't budged a bit. I think it enjoys the flow it gets.
