Haddoni or Giganti?

I'm in the market for a blue carpet anemone. I've had an RBTA for close to a year. Its the size of a basketball. I was wondering if carpets were more difficult and if one was more difficult than the other. Also I have a pair of true percs in the RBTA and a pair of Black O's hosting a torch. Do you think the Black O's will take to the carpet? Tank is a 180 with 3x 250mh and t5's .

Stichodactyla gigantea is the more demanding carpet anemone species.
Both gigantea and haddoni are widely accepted as being more demanding than RBTA's.

Ocellaris or percula might (or might not) take to a carpet anemone- it all depends on the species involved and individual fish.
The best bet is to match natural symbionts. (See anemone FAQ sticky at the top of this forum.)

"Do you think the Black O's will take to the carpet?"

There is no easy answer. My Black O's are hosted by my blue Haddoni. I would think that if they have taken to the BTA its likely they would look for a new host if you remove it. There are no guarantee's though.

The black ocellaris will take to a gigantea. It's questionable if they will move into a haddoni or not.

I am not going to disagree, but I have never personally seen an ocellaris refuse to host a gig, but have seen them reject haddoni (the former being a natural host and the latter not). With the preponderance of captive-rasied o's out there, they would have lower odds of hosting in any carpet, but the haddoni more than a gig.

IMO
