haddoni questions

I bought a haddoni a few days ago and everything was good so i gave him a piece of shrimp (no shell) and the next day when the lights came on he spit his guts up. I turned off the lights and he went back to normal. I have read to acclimate him but i dont have any window screens. I am only running my lights for 2 hours the turning of the lights on his side. This has been going on for 2 days. What are the chances of this guy making it? The lights are stressing him out but goes back to normal during lights out. Is all this normal?

Tank size- 110
2 - 250 watt lights
My water was tested by LSF and tested good
Tank was up for 2 years before i bought it and i have had it for 6 months

First, you should provide as much information as possible. Few things are useless info in anemone care.

Next, you should probably give some numbers from the LFS test. Their idea of good and an anemone's are not always the same.

The behavior is NOT normal. I have no idea what exactly is happening but it could be light shock. Never assume it's not and better safe than sorry if you can get some screening and try it I would suggest it.

Lastly, pictures help us on the outside get a good idea of things you may not notice so if you can add any kind of pictures that would also help. Good luck I hope he makes it.

I did buy him from petco and i know there lights arent good some lights are strong. would me only leaving the light thats on his side on for 2 hours good or bad. I also leave the other side on for my BT anemone. I will try to post some pics of him after work.

2 Hours is not good enough. It sounds like light shock is happening. I would put anything you can find even if its not window screening. Egg Crate can do the same thing. Your basically just trying to fade the light down to a reasonable level for the anemone till it adjusts to your lights over the course of a few weeks. Giving something only 2 hours does not make up for the additional 6 more hours he should have. Providing more light for shorter times doesn't equal up to a long period of time.
