Haddoni Tank

I'm thinking of building a 2' x 2' x 10" tank strictly for keeping one Haddoni with a clown pair. Is this tank large enough? If I ran a bio pellet reactor and kept up significant water changes would I be able to get by with no live rock or sump? I am trying to do something different and would love to hear some thoughts

What I've seen the large carpets, and Haddoni like to stretch a little bit, 10 inches might be a little shallow. Perhaps 18 would give the animal more room and more water for stability.

You need to have substrate (and probably rock) to keep a haddoni happy. If they can't bury their foot in a secure location they are liable to go on "walkabout" in your tank - usually at night - usually heading for that ONE SPOT you don't want them to go (i.e. powerhead or overflow). The water depth is less of a concern as long as they can bury in the sand - I have seen them in water under 12" in the wild.

I would increase the height to 18 inches. You may want 4inches+ sand then some other interesting rock for your aquascape. a large Haddoni will almost fill the 24X24 surface. I would also want a larger tank 30X30 because I want something else in there. This larger size will let your anemone move a bit until he settle down, then you can aquascape around it. I think with a little more room, you will have a much more natural tank.

I appreciate the replies. Sounds like the proposed height of the tank is the main concern and I did forget to consider the depth of the sand. I think the other issue I didn't consider is that it may not choose to stay in the center of the tank which could give it some issues. Thanks again for the input
