Haddoni to stay in qt until tank upgrade or move to dt until tank upgrade?

The haddoni I have been treating just finished treatment (2 rounds, cipro then septra). He is rather large (easily 20+ inches) and I would prefer to wait until the larger tank is up and running before adding him to the tank.

If he was yours, would you keep him in a makeshift qt where he was treated or would you place him in the current dt and just move him when it is time for the tank transfer? (Hopefully the tank will have water by this weekend/ early next week and I figured I will let it run for a week or two before transferring over all livestock - so that would mean ~ 2 more weeks in a qt slightly on the smaller side for him).

I agree with you especially gigs that attach to a single/ easy to move rock would be a rather simple move.

I am just worried cause this one is extremely strong and I am sure once he attaches he could be extremely difficult to get out - on the other hand, I am worried that the qt he is in is on the I smaller side/ my ability to continue to do daily water changes to ensure good water quality of the next two weeks plus in dt he would be under 400 watt mh vs qt 4 strips of t5s in 10 to 15 gallons of water

to continue to do daily water changes to ensure good water quality of the next two weeks r

That's a lot of effort especially since you just finished a prolonged QT for it as it is...not something I'd be able to withstand given other important matters in life.

To prevent attachment to the tank you could get a piece of artificial lawn and cut it so that it can cover the bottom and all sides. Anemones can't attach well to that. For it to have something to attach to you can add a ceramic dish on top of the lawn.

Can't help you with water quality. Gigs seem to be able to handle quite some thick soup (I change water in the 10 gallon QT I have my last purple gig in maybe once a month - and I feed quite well), but haddoni may require cleaner water.

My suggestion would be to put the haddoni into a large planter basket and hang that into the current DT until the new one is done.

I might just go with the strawberry basket route. The artificial lawn idea is pretty interesting. I never considered it before, just would be worried he would decide to move to a spot I couldn't cover and attach

And as for water quality, he just produces a ton of slime and was producing a ton of pelleted. There is no bio. Just him and two glass bowls To hold on to and I am not currently feeding him. Maybe I won't need to do a wc everyday but I would just hate for him not continue to do well after two rounds of treatment

The basket route would be the best in your case.

I have seen the lawn solution at DeJong Marinelife where they used it at their anemone tanks (which actually were just large plastic basins). They had it glued to the tanks, going up all the way over the top rim, and leaving no spot uncovered.
For a wholesaler it is important that they can remove their anemones quickly without the risk of injury. I found this solution quite ingenious.

Use the basket. If you are not feeding in Qt I have gone 3 days between water changes in a 20 gallon. Kept like this for 3 1/2 weeks after treatment
