I have a 54 gallon corner bowfront and recently have aquired a green haddoni a about 5 inches. He seems to be in great shape since his arrival from Live Aquaria. Tight mouth and no deflating since I got him about three weeks ago. A few feedings that he devours quickly of krill and mysis. He's moved about three times now. First on the right side up against a rock. Then to the other side under a rock that sits alone at the bottom with no other rocks stacked on top. He's attached these times to the bottom glass. This guy can't seem to find a good spot. I have about three inches of fine sand. Just curious if maybe the flow is too high. I have a 800gph cheaper wavemaker and a small 350 gph , one on each side. Also thought about lighting. He seems to want to go to lower light in the corners of the front of my bowfront. I use a 16 inch Photon programmable. It's the chinese one that has been talked about alot here. Great light. I have it at 80 blue and 60 white ramping up from moonlights am to this power mid day then back down over every half hour. My paramaters are very good with 1.024, 1240 mag, and 440 cal. I have had this tank set up for two years. Any ideas why he's having a tough time finding the right spot. Maybe I will take pics tonight..
When he was up against that singular rock I was amazed at it's strenght. I caught him as he was moving under it and he moved the rock right up about an inch . Not sure if he was startled or what. Pretty amazing though. Any thoughts would be good. Like I said he seems very very healthy other then finding a spot.
I arrange my rocks in a horse shoe patern around the two side glass panels and wonder if I should move him to the back of the horse shoe pattern where the least flow is?
