Haddoni won't stay put

I have a 54 gallon corner bowfront and recently have aquired a green haddoni a about 5 inches. He seems to be in great shape since his arrival from Live Aquaria. Tight mouth and no deflating since I got him about three weeks ago. A few feedings that he devours quickly of krill and mysis. He's moved about three times now. First on the right side up against a rock. Then to the other side under a rock that sits alone at the bottom with no other rocks stacked on top. He's attached these times to the bottom glass. This guy can't seem to find a good spot. I have about three inches of fine sand. Just curious if maybe the flow is too high. I have a 800gph cheaper wavemaker and a small 350 gph , one on each side. Also thought about lighting. He seems to want to go to lower light in the corners of the front of my bowfront. I use a 16 inch Photon programmable. It's the chinese one that has been talked about alot here. Great light. I have it at 80 blue and 60 white ramping up from moonlights am to this power mid day then back down over every half hour. My paramaters are very good with 1.024, 1240 mag, and 440 cal. I have had this tank set up for two years. Any ideas why he's having a tough time finding the right spot. Maybe I will take pics tonight..

When he was up against that singular rock I was amazed at it's strenght. I caught him as he was moving under it and he moved the rock right up about an inch . Not sure if he was startled or what. Pretty amazing though. Any thoughts would be good. Like I said he seems very very healthy other then finding a spot.

I arrange my rocks in a horse shoe patern around the two side glass panels and wonder if I should move him to the back of the horse shoe pattern where the least flow is?

I have a beautiful purple long tentacle nem. And my pistol shrimp will burrow under him and make him move. This kind of sucks, not is just kind of floats and wanders.

How deep is your sandbed? Also what kind of sand? They also don't tend to like high flow or crazy high light levels. Is the color changing at all?

All of them have a mind of their own and will never stop moving. If their not happy with the spot, for what ever reason, they'll move. All you can do is keep track of them and if they get next to a coral and starts stinging it, very carefully,... move it.

If it's always creating a problem around corals, consider setting up another tank for it and enjoy it in peace.

My anemones get priority when designing the tank. Because they are the apex invert in reefs. So most of my anemone tanks are species tanks with corals that will play nice also. Haddoni dont like tons of flow and will move to find less flow. I usually do good by setting my haddoni in spots up against two large rocks. That have just a lil separation and 4"+ of sand. But high nitrates can cause movement also.

It's in a lower light area where it has been now for three days. He's between a rock and the glass in pretty much closed quarters where it is not really able to expand a lot . No natural sunlight in about 2 and 1/2 inches of sand. Looks healthy and fed him a krill last night which he quickly devoured. I've lowered my Led's from 80/60 to 60/40

So it took it a bit to move to a lower flow area. Was it getting bashed around through the day?

When did you lower your lights?

Actually when it was more in the open there was not alot of flow moving to around. I thought that is was in a low flow area to begin with. I lowered the lights two days ago. I'll just see what it does and what it may be looking for. Like I said he seems quite healthy. Good color , tight mouth. One question is it really has not expanded totally yet. It's open but no so that the ridges are a full circle..
