Hairy algae in my fraq tank !

I have hairy algae in my frag tank ! i dont have any of this problem in my main tank and my refugem , my po4 = 0 , no3 =0 .

i just have in my frag tank egg crate and sps frags , what did you think tha main reason in my frag tank ?

Some Big Reasons:
Poor lighting
Nutrients too high/Poor removal
Phosphates too high
Poor water quality
Introduced by new specimen

i remember seeing an article a while back about some eggcrate leaching chemicals, i can't remember if it was p04 or not.

do you have an older bulb over your frag tank? i am assuming that the frag tank in question in integrated into the same system as your main display. so the water would be the same. if thats the case then lighting would be my first suspect as it would most likely be a different fixture from the ones over the other tanks

Manually pull out as much as you can, and one by one go through your list of potential causers and Im sure you can beat it ... Id start with changing the bulb over your frag tank, for me old lights are the number one cause.

Also, if your frag tank is hooked up to your main display, Id try and clean the algae out quick ... id hate to get that in my main tank
