Hamilton Cebu mh t5 ?

Hi

Question I'm looking to buy a Hamilton Cebu for my 220 gal 72x24" wide x30" deep

So it is a deep tank mostly sps I currently have 3 radions and 2 250 w 14k mh

So I'd like to change to a tried and true t5 mh
Combo I've been talking to Hamilton through email and there customer service has been really great

So I almost ordered the 72" Cebu with 3 X 250 w radium with magnetic ballast

But I asked about the par and thought it might just be a little bit to little for sps for the depth of my tank
So was wondering about adding 1 400w
Mh in the middle and 2 250 w on either side

So is this a good idea or will it look strange too bright in the middle ?
Also will it bring the par levels up to grow and color sps well ?
The reason I don't wanna go with 3 400 w mh is I don't have a chiller and it's not option to add one

What sort of par numbers did Dave say it produced. Many ppl are running the 250 watt bulbs with tons of success.

Would love to hear from anyone running the Hamilton Cebu there thoughts
Wanna really make a go at Acros I grow the easier sps no problem would like to get more into mostly acros

BRS has some PAR tests on their video series. It might be worth checking if they did one on the Cebu.

I run the 250 Cebu over 84x28x24 and find it works well. It's really going to depend on how you do your rock working what you plan to keep. There aren't too many SPS that have thrived in the top 6" of my tank directly under the 250 Radiums. At 12" they do really well and grow into the light they want. New wild colonies love my sand bed. My experience with 400's is lots of heat and high electrical costs, better left to keepers who have a need or plan. HTH

I had heard that the 400 is brighter, more punch, and a better light than the 250. As in hey aren't quite the same bulb with only a difference of wattage. Like the 400 is the holy grail and is superior between the two.....

Wouldn't even think twice if tank was 24" but 30" deep tank I don't wanna not be able to grow sps towards lower third of tsnk

SPS @ 20" below water line go with 250's.

My tank is 24 tall and the build is 12 inches off the waterline. So I'm thinking of switching to try a 400
