Ok is it normal for hammer to close up if a fish touchs it? can anyone give me some info about this nice coral.. i'm thinkin about gettin one for my tank..

I have a few of these and they seem pretty hard to kill. Think that they would make a nice addition to any tank. They are also easy to see if they like where you have them or not as they won't inflate if they have too much flow. Good luck, Tim

LIke frogspawn, they're euphyllia species, and will even coexist at close range with frog. They're not bad about sweepers, are tolerant of most things except low alkalinity.

This retraction reaction is particularly strong in a euphyllia that's not long in its current position. They seem to get 'nervous.'...or at least their hazard sensor is stuck in 'on' position.

They like a chaotic moderate current and mine doesn't mind mh lighting at fairly close range: the lighting option seems variable for them.

They don't 'eat' as obviously as other lps; letting cyclopeeze float in the tank is probably the best food.

Hammer corals and frogspawn as well as torch have very delicate tissue. If the tissue is damaged in any way it can retract. This can result in one of the "heads" dying. be careful when you are buying to make sure that it is bagged correctly (hung upside down supported by styro) and that the heads do not bounce on the bottom of the bag. Also make sure that it is seperated from other corals as it will let off toxins. It can be with other hammer frogspawn and torch though and touch.
