my hammer coral during the day dose not open all the way and overnight closes completely .. could this b from to much flow around it. should i movie it. as of now it is at the half way mark in my tank, 150 g. 2 feet from the mp40 but i have had it awhile and been like this the past month

Assuming your parameters are within reason, yes, too much flow could have this affect on a coral. Try moving it to a new spot for a couple weeks and see how it responds. GL.

It may be splitting into new heads. I have one that I bought as 1 head and was huge! It came from a basketball size mother colony and it has been small ever since its started splitting but I'm getting a bunch of new heads and I'm sure it will be awesome when its successfully split all the way.
...oops orry this is my frogspawn.

My hammers split without much noticeable effects, unlike my frog.

Try new flow & lighting conditions.

What lighting and how far from them?

I had to get rid of alot of my hammers and frogspwawns cuz of the amount of flow in my 75 gallon mixed reef, I have 2x Tunze 6100's @60% Pulse... I put some frags off them in my 12 cube with little flow and and they are more open then I've ever seen them!

Polyps extension varying by the lightcycle is normal, mine all close up overnight; if anything I would say its probably too little flow, unless you have it in a spot where it's absolutely getting blasted by a power head or return pump. Hammer coral isn't a softie, though, so you might benefit more from posting this in the LPS forum.

this should be in the LPS thread but yes flow or water quality is your issue. Reduce the flow watch them expand. if they dont then you know its something else.
