Hammer feeding?

So I was feeding my tank and noticed this clear jelly like mouth thing...come out of the center of my hammer. Hammer looks fine, I think this is its mouth and maybe its feeding? Not sure though. Anyone else ever see this, its my first hammer so I want to make sure im not killing it.
