Attempting to create a list of pictures of hammer coral, frogspawn coral, and torch coral colonies along with water parameters and any methods used to increase growth rate. Please respond LPS enthusiasts!! also how long it took ballpark to achieve the growth!!

Replies will be greatly appreciated for my own research

Started out like this

In about a year it went to this, about 5" across

It grew a little larger

It is about 8" across here. I think it took about 3 years.

Those are home made LEDs, but the first year with that coral was MH.
They are on about 12 hours a day.

This was my frogspawn under 12 - 39W T5's about 9-10hrs daily. Its about 15" from the surface. I don't target feed cause I don't have time. Just Kent Marine ChromaMax, and freeze dried krill, Mysis shrimp and plankton mashed in a paste and broadcast fed to my fishes and corals. I feed my fish and corals nearly 8-10 times daily.

Aug 2011

Jan 2013 with over 15 heads.

I lost the whole colony about 3 mths ago when I came overseas. It was way over 30 heads just before I left. good thing I fragged it before. Seems like the chiller malfunctioned just after she left the house @ 6:00AM and when she returned home late that night, the temp had passed 83F. Didn't get it fixed till the next day and I lost it. Also lost a basketball size white spaghetti leather (grew it from the size of a baseball) and another coral. A grape coral. Wife told me only one head survived out of 8.

that and amazing coral trinidiver too bad it got lost but with that kind of strategy you can get it back in no time!

Wow that actually amazing only 6-8 months but thanks everyone so far for there time lets try to see what else is out there!

Here are mine in my 125. They all started approx tennis ball sized. This is about three years growth too. The hammer in the center is larger than a basketball. I have to frag them to keep them from the glass. My lighting is an 8 bulb 80 watt T5 setup running 7 hours a day with an extra half hr dusk and dawn running just 2 bulbs. I dose BRS two part daily along with fish feeding. I have never target fed them but occasionally feed reef chili and cyclopeeze to the tank. For size ref, my tangs are approx 4".

Thanks man, I am heading home tomorrow so I would see what I can salvage. I have a 4ft frag tank with 14 hammer frags that had 3-5 heads 4mths ago, up to last week they told me all the frags had doubled in size and was ready to cut again. All that frag tank gets is some pellets to feed the mollies I have and I dose b-ionic daily. Will start dosing coral food every few days and see the outcome.

Chamjack...............very nice tank and corals. they big and beautiful.

Wow ChamJcak that is one crazy tank no kidding you have to frag that all of the time but. And good luck Trinidiver let us know how it turned out

Chamjack, the 3 corals on the upper left hand side are nice but are all of them frogspawn? Another question is the basketball size hammer, do you get problems with it rounding out and the lower ones get issues with getting light?????

Tanked_life, Actually some are growing in my main display, some in my sump under LED's and then the main frag tank is 48x18x18 under HO-T5's. No chiller, no skimmer and just running a 75gal hang on filter. The frag tank has been running about 6-7mths now. I have no idea of the real parameters...........lol. they growing so I good. will check tomorrow.
