hammer/frogspawn flow requirements

would a tunze nanostream(6025) be too much for these corals in a 36"x12" 30g tank?
if this seems like a familiar question, i apologize, cause i have asked this in other forums, and i mean no offense to the people who resonded elsewhere, i just want to get as many responses as possible. thanks

I got a branching frogspawn that hates even meduim flow. I keep it in the low part of my 90 with almost no flow and is happy.

In a nano I think you could position the Powerhead so that it gets a little flow but not in the stream.

I have a hammer in my 29 gallon and I have placed it in the middle of the tank on a rock on the far side of the tank. My filter pumps 400 gallons/hour towards the middle of the tank. Since some rocks block some of the flow towards the sides of the tank, the hammer does well in the low flow area on the side of the tank. I only have it up higher (in the middle) in order to bring it closer to the lighting.
I am new, but if your tank is really tall, you may want to keep the coral closer to the bottom of the tank in order to get it in a low flow area. I was told that the reason to keep them in a low flow area is so that they will fully expand.

for the sake of clarity i should add here that i dont have this system in place, rather i am attempting to get some feedback so that i can continue my plan. i dont have either the corals or the pump, but am curious if the suggested pump would provide a desireable flow in the 36 inch tank for the euphyllia corals. i would like to have one of each and let those two corals be the only ones in the tank. i plan on having a sump with the return flowing at about 200 gph on a seaswirl type device. if anyone has experience with the tunze 6025 i would appreciate a description of the flow from this pump. thanks

Funny you should ask... I have 2 Nanostream 6025's in my 40g mixed reef (36x12x21). My frogspawn is just off of center mid tank. It most definitely likes the flow the Tunzes put out. :)

awesome. thanks for the input. did you just aim the two pumps at each other from either end of the tank or did you come up with something else?

i have two tunzes in my 55 (plus quite at least 800 gph of additional flow), and my hammer, torch, candy cane, etc, all are doing fine...

i have mine high up on each side panel of the tank, one at the rear aiming across the tank to the right, and one positiong at the right, at the front of the tank, aiming to the left... i find this gives me a nice, but gentle whirlpool effect creating flow throughout all areas of the tank... but i'm sure there are multiple ways to aim them, any number of which would work.
