Hanna Alk reagent

Both of mine were bad. Two different lot numbers too. Thanks for the info. Any speculation as to why they are recalled? My checker seems to be reading right.

My bottle is bad. Tested tonight with Hanna and Salifert. 8.8 with Hanna, 9.8 with Salifert. Glad I don't try to keep my alkalinity at the higher end of the range.

And a replacement will ship within the next 2-4 weeks! Awesome! Haha. Love it when companies don't inform you of recalls and take a month to fix their screw up.

Mine's bad too. But I've checked against Salifert a couple times and not found much difference (Salifert was a bit lower than Hanna). Guess I'll just start using Salifert until my replacement arrives.

Bought 2 packs off amazon. Both r bad. One is still unused.

Submitted my info via website and got an email saying they received my submission and I emailed back... Waiting for a reply now

i did receive a reply from their customer support, the link IS valid.

they said please check the lot number and act accordingly.

Mine is bad also. Hanna seems to get a lot of love on the boards, but I have not been impressed at all with there quality control. Everyone thinks look, here are the results right here on an LED screen, they must be right and more accurate than other tests! In the past two years I've had two bad batches of phosphate regents and now the alkalinity. Funny, I suspected the results were off when I went to the new batch and my results were off where they had been stable in the past. Luckily I had a Salifert test kit and have been using that instead of my Hanna checker since I suspected something was wrong. I filled out there form, they must be shipping it to me via a slow boat passing through the Suez and Panama Canal, way to step up and take care of your screw up Hanna, even the US Post Office would get it to me in 3 days. Shame on you Hanna for not making this information readily available and sending out replacements quick.

I won't say more right but it actually gives a number (granted it's the only test unit i have used outside of API)

I ordered some more agent from BRS and got it today.....it's also bad. Rechecked my alkalinity tonight with my old Hanna agent and two different Salifert tests and the Salifert measured 0.9 dKh higher.
