I guess I'll throw a little update out on these two, since the fervor has died down about quarantine. I was watching them for a little while this evening, and noticed that "he" (the smaller of the two) will at times put himself in front of "her", arch himself, and shake. I'm guessing this is some form of either mating, or submissive behavior.
I've also noted that "she" will from time to time, swim right at "him" and nudge him. I certainly wouldn't say hit, because she seems to stop herself right before impact and just tap, rather than really move him at all.
Doesn't seem like anything unusual to me, as I've seen this in some freshwater fish. Then again, I can't say I know much about the courtship of clownfish. Any thoughts?
