Happy Thursday...

Forums seemed a little slow today, and I am waiting for students to finish a test so... thought I would just say howdy and ask: "what are people up to for the weekend?"

As for me, taking the wife to her first Ice Bears hockey game tonight! Then shes off to a womens ministries retreat for the weekend. So that means I teach Sabbath School on Saturday then a bit of one-on-one time with the Big Guy. Then to rot my brain playing WoW all night long until the wee hours of the morning Sunday!

Sounds like fun doesn't it? Nothing quite like a bit of religion and video games for a solo weekenders soul!

I'm doing my best to ignore the clutter of my house and the fact that my Nana and Papa are coming to visit next week... Making it through the last week of tests only to turn around after Thanksgiving and have finals... :)

I did buy a Sig Sauer P229 yesterday that has me pretty stoked... :D It should arrive by next week!!!

My brother had that model of Sig, loved it compared to his miniglock which never fit in my hand. But the sig has good lines and fits well. You will enjoy it I'm sure!

Reef meeting, I may be able to make this one, I'll double check but put me down for a tentative!

Yup... I already have a 220, but wanted something I could go back and forth between a .40 and .357... :D

Ice Bears games are fun! I got free tickets once from a UT-hockey student. Farm-league games are so much better than NHL games too.

Totally unrelated: the whole gun-purchasing blitz is pretty nuts. The same thing happened when Clinton was about to take office. It's pretty irrational considering that both parties are pro-gun, differing only in details about regulation (nothing major changed with Clinton in office, and nothing major will change with Obama in office either). Gun shops love it when democrats take office - it's good for business.

Personally, I love assault weapons. I think that people should be able to collect whatever weapons they like. This is a free country. Besides, if guns are made illegal, then only the criminals will have them. By the same reasoning, I think we should loosen gun regulations so that we have access to the same weapons as criminals - level the playing field, you know? I look forward to the day I can buy a bazooka at Wal-Mart. :)

I know a lot of Arms dealers are increasing their prices... Then again, I know there is a 2 month wait list for new AR 15's... So its all about supply and demand... There are a bunch of people worried about Obama pulling carry permits, but I think that it is unlikely... However, I wouldn't be surprised to see a ban on assault rifles again... I would have already purchased one if Ashley wasn't so adamantly against it... Perhaps when we get our new house and a gun safe... :uzi:

Ice Bear games are freaking awesome... Of course I like pro games as well... I'm hoping to take Ashley to a few games this year since she gets off of work earlier now... :D

I...like a COMPLETE idiot...am running my first 15K tomorrow morning.

If I go, I know I'll finish, but it's going to be brutal. The only two things that are making me still resolved to go are that I already registered ($25) and pure determination that all my training will not be in vain.

Other than that, I've got the reef club meeting at the house, despite having not cleaned or water changed the tank in forever, and on Sunday, we're going to try to get some time to go cut down a Christmas tree.

I think I'd give the $25 not to run...

Ashley is excited to put up our tree next weekend... I have to move my desk...

15k... golly... I happen to teach 2 PE classes a day and still would rather drive the 15k than walk it... *sigh* too many video games ya think!?
