hey guys. Today i was moving my maxima clam to a higher level. and when he closed i noticed that he had hard white ridge at the edge of he's shell. is this a sign of growth?. Ive read about growth in clams, i just wanted your guy's opinion. Also i noticed two little things growing out of the shell of my clam. They look like little feather dusters. please dont say there bristle worms.... :(

Thats growth, that or your clam poped out and had the edge of his shell bleeched at the dentists

bristle worms are free living so they wont be growing on the shell. can you post a pic or give a better description?

theres two of them, and there real small. Its a tube coming out of the shell ( side ) and it looks like a little feather duster.

going by that description i would say it a feather duster:)

or some type of tube worm, nothing to worry about
