Harlequin Missing a Claw

I have had my male Harlequin for about 8 months. Eats good, looks healthy, have had no problems until about a month ago. I noticed he had a black spot on his left claw by the little pincher. I thought that was weird but he did not act funny. Now today, I just noticed his whole left claw was gone. His arm that it attaches to was there and he was moving it around but the "paddle" part was gone. The right side looks normal and he is eating and acting normal. Is this something to worry about and normal or should I be concerned?

It will come back next time he molts. He probably damaged it somehow. If he continues to take damage you might have something predatory in there.

Thanks. I was really hoping it would grow back. I will watch more closely for a predator if the something like that happens again.

I also had the same problem once shortly after I got my Harlequins. I noticed that he lost his claw the same night he had molted so I assume that it was a "bad molt" that caused the loss of his claw.

After a nice big meal he molted againand his claw was back.
Yours should do the same.
